Description

Farm buildings, dated 1789. Constructed from squared and cut local lias stone with Welsh slate roofs, some hipped and some with plain gables. The buildings are arranged in a Z-plan. The southwards wing is largely two storeys high and includes an open wagon shed at the south end, featuring a datestone reading "TR 1789" in the top of the inner gable. This datestone commemorates Thomas Harris, a Bristol merchant who owned the property from 1783 to 1797. The south elevation has numerous doors at both ground and first floor levels, with smaller doorways featuring segmental arched, voussoired openings. The north range comprises four bays of two storeys, including a three-centred arched doorway at the west end, a double cart shell, and then a single-storey range of stables and ancillary buildings returning northwards. The roof structure features queen-post trusses.
