Description
The churchyard cross, located about 15 metres south of the chancel of the Church of All Saints, dates from the 14th century and was restored as a war memorial for the 1914-18 conflict. It is made of Doulting stone and features a 20th-century base consisting of three octagonal steps constructed in open jointed ashlar without nosings. The square base stone measures approximately 800 millimetres wide and 900 millimetres high, with curved broaches on the upper corners leading to a hollow chamfered octagonal top. The shaft is about 400 millimetres square at the base, tapering upwards, with the lower 1.35 metres appearing to be original 14th-century work, while the upper section is a 20th-century continuation, complete with a moulded top and a cross finial.
