Description

Drayton Manor is a country house dating from the late 18th century and early 19th century. It is constructed of Flemish bond brickwork with a freestone cornice and a brick parapet topped with coping. The roof is covered in slate and plain tiles, and tall brick stacks feature moulded stone caps. The symmetrical front is in a late Georgian style, with two storeys and an attic. It has three bays and 16-pane sash windows, a first-floor sill band, and late 19th-century 3-light transomed casements on the ground floor, each with a flat stone hood supported by paired moulded brackets and a small triangular pediment. The central door is set within a stone doorcase, with a fanlight and brackets supporting a hood. First-floor windows have flanking louvred shutters, and the ground-floor windows have similar sliding shutters. Inside, two fireplaces of Adamesque design have been reused.
