Description

No. 4 Market Street is a house that has been converted into a hairdresser's. It dates from the early to mid-19th century and features a stucco exterior with a Ham Hill stone plinth, doorcase, cornice, and rusticated quoins. The building has a slate roof with rendered brick stacks at the gable ends and a double-depth plan. It stands two storeys tall and has a symmetrical three-window arrangement, with all windows being 8/8-pane sashes. There are steps leading up to the central round-arched doorcase, which has a moulded archivolt and a traceried fanlight, along with 20th-century double iron dog gates facing the street and a five-panel door. The interior has not been inspected.
