Description
No. 54 High Street is a building that likely dates from the early 19th century and has been converted into offices from its original use as a house. The exterior is rendered and colourwashed, topped with a hipped Welsh slate roof behind a tall parapet. It stands three storeys high with two bays. The façade features plain side pilasters, a moulded cornice, and plain coping along the parapet, along with a brick end stack. The ground floor has a 20th-century shop front with multi-paned windows and glazed doors on either side. The first floor contains 12-pane sash windows with pediment hoods supported by console brackets, while the second floor has smaller 12-pane sashes set in plain openings. The rear elevation has been rendered and significantly altered in the 20th century, featuring casement windows and vertical timber boarding on part of the second floor. Additionally, there is a 20th-century extension at the rear. The interior has been reshaped in the later 20th century.
