Description
66 High Street is a house in a row with a shop, dating from the early 17th century, with a front that was likely added in the 18th or 19th century. The front is made of painted brick, while some inner walls are constructed of stone. The building has a double Roman tile roof and a brick chimney stack.
The exterior features two storeys and four bays. On the first floor, there are four-pane sash windows, while the ground floor includes a throughway to the left and a shop front with two wide panelled pilasters flanking a central doorway, topped with a moulded cornice. A small chimney stack is located on the right side.
The interior was only partially accessible, revealing a front room with a very low ceiling where early features are concealed, and a rear room with a higher ceiling that contains one early 17th-century chamfered and stopped transverse beam. It is likely that additional early features are hidden within the structure. Further investigation of the property is needed.
