Description
Colliers and Colliers Cottage is a house with an attached cottage, dating from the 16th and 18th centuries. The exterior is finished in modern roughcast and colourwash, topped with a double-Roman tiled roof that has two sections and three brick ridge stacks. The building has a through-passage plan and stands two storeys high, featuring a layout of 2:2:1 bays. The windows include two and three-light casements with glazing bars, except for two early stone-mullioned windows on the left side of the ground floor, which have stopped labels. Each casement has horizontal glazing bars in each light. There are two door openings; the left side has a panelled door, while the right side has a plank door, both sheltered by lean-to porches. Inside, the property contains notable features such as fireplaces with wooden bressumers, ceiling beams, and an 18th-century staircase with splat balusters, square newels, and a moulded handrail.
