Description
Tuckers is a cottage dating from the 16th century, with alterations from the 18th century. It is constructed of rubble with traces of colourwash and features a thatched roof along with brick stacks. The building is single storey with an attic and consists of three bays. The windows are casements with leaded lights, and some have iron quadrants. There are two door openings; on the left is a six-panelled door, with the top two panels glazed, set beneath a gabled porch that has a triple-Roman tile roof, made of rubble and dressed stone, with a segmental outer door opening. On the right is a glazed door. At the rear, there is a parallel range made of rubble with a pantiled roof, which includes some casements similar to those at the front. Inside, the cottage features exposed ceiling beams, a fireplace with a broad wooden bressumer, 18th-century doors, and a central room on the ground floor with an 18th-century chimneypiece.
