Description
This is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 5 metres northeast of Speke Chapel at the Church of St Andrew. It dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century and is made of Ham stone. The tomb features a stepped base and a moulded plinth, with one fielded panel on each face and three-panel pilasters on the flanks. The hipped top has moulded coving and rounded leading edges. Although the inscription on the south side is not readable, its close proximity to Speke Chapel and the Manor House suggests it is likely associated with the Speke family.
