Description
The Keepers is a detached cottage dated 1786, constructed from cut and squared ham stone with a thatched roof featuring a stepped coped gable. A later extension to the north has a double Roman clay tile roof and brick chimney stacks. The cottage is two storeys high with attics and has a two-bay east elevation that faces the road. It features three-light leaded casement windows with iron-framed opening lights, and the lower windows have timber lintels. Between the bays is a 20th-century stone porch with a hipped thatched roof, along with a 20th-century door and window. The south gable has 20th-century three-light casements on both the ground and first floors, along with a small oval window in the attic. At the crown of the gable is a datestone inscribed H/GA/1786. There is also a late 19th to early 20th-century two-bay extension to the north, which includes small-pane casement windows. The interior has not been inspected.
