Description
Cannwood Farmhouse, also known as Cannwood House, is a house dated 1760. It is constructed of red brick in English bond with Bath stone dressings. The building features a double hipped roof covered with plain clay tiles, which rests on three base courses of stone slates. There are brick chimney stacks at the ends of the ridges.
The east elevation has three storeys and three bays, with rusticated quoins. It includes three-light wave-moulded mullioned windows that do not have labels, filled with simple horizontal bar casements. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door in a plain surround, flanked by additional two-light mullioned windows. High between the second and third bays, there is a stone plaque that reads: 'W/-A/MDCCLX'.
The interior is very plain and is currently in the process of restoration, with doors, fireplaces, and other features being stored for reuse as of September 1983.
