Description
This is a headstone located about 2 metres south of the chancel of the Church of St. James in the churchyard. It is dedicated to Jonathan Polwhiele and is dated 1630. The monument is made of dressed stone and features a low upright slab with a damaged cambered top. There is a central dedicatory inscription on the west side, surrounded by raised mouldings. This headstone is considered a very early example of its kind.
