Description
Three headstones located 10 meters south of the tower at the Church of St. James date from the early 17th century and one is specifically from 1628. They are made of dressed stone. The headstone on the left is plain and inscribed with '....AN: 16-1: W.' The central headstone features chamfered corners and a raised moulded border, inscribed with 'Hear lyeth the body of William Goodie Who departed this life.....'. The headstone on the right has a triangular head with relief carving and is inscribed '1628', with a lattice panel below.
