Description
Mortons' Farmhouse, now a house, was built in the mid-18th century and altered in the mid-20th century. It is constructed of coursed and squared rubble with a pantile roof, and has ashlar dressings and three gable stacks. The house is two storeys high and originally had three bays, with a double-depth plan. The windows are 20th-century casements and Yorkshire sash windows. The east front has a recessed bay to the left, containing an entrance with a hood supported on shaped brackets. To the right of this is a casement window. Further right is a blocked doorway with a casement window on either side. To the extreme right is a single-storey addition from the early 20th century, featuring a casement window. Above, there are two casements. The rear elevation has two large 20th-century bay windows, with a casement window to the right and three casements above. The building is included on the heritage register for group value.
