Description
Number 1 and The Barn is a farmhouse and adjoining barn, now divided into two houses, dating from the early 18th century and 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed and squared rubble with gabled and hipped pantile roofs, featuring an ashlar plinth, quoins, and dressings. It has a single ridge, with stacks on the side wall, gable, and rear wall. The structure is two storeys high and consists of two bays, arranged in an L-plan.
The north front has a central door with chamfered jambs, flanked by single plain sash windows. Above the door, there are two additional sashes. The return angle features one sash window and, above it, a casement and another sash. The east side has two casements, with a sash and a blocked door to the right. The south gable includes a casement on each floor. On the west side, there are two mullioned casements to the left, followed by a blocked door with ashlar jambs. To the right, there is a casement flanked by single doors, one of which has ashlar jambs. Further right, there are two doors and a casement, all with stone lintels, and above, to the left, are two mullioned casements, with two additional casements to the right.
