Description

This pair of gate piers and attached railings, dating from the 18th century, is located 20 metres south of Manor House Farmhouse. The structure is made from local lias stone and Ham stone, featuring wrought iron gates. The square piers are constructed from lias stone and topped with Ham stone caps that have a cornice mould, steps, and ball finials. On either side of the gateway, there are low stone walls capped with Ham copings and railings that have twist top points. The gates match the style of the piers and there are additional gates to the west of the main gateway, with urn finials on the gateposts. There is also a return stone wall about 2.5 metres high on the east side of the front garden. This structure contributes to the setting of Manor House Farmhouse.
