Description
Burrow Hill Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century to the early 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-20th century. It is constructed of red sandstone random rubble and features a hipped slate roof to the right, along with brick stacks, one of which is located to the right of the original entrance. The building has a 3-cell and cross passage layout, with an attached cider house. It stands two storeys high and has eight bays with irregularly placed windows. The fenestration includes 2, 3, 4, and 6-light casements, and there are mid-20th century doors. The original entrance is located fourth from the right, while there is another entrance in the third bay to the right and an inserted entrance in the second bay to the left, both added in the 20th century. The interior of the room, which comprises the end three bays to the right, features a compartment ceiling with plaster ovals and cross palms at the corners; however, the rest of the interior was not viewed.
