Description

This is a range of farm buildings that includes a barn, a granary loft over two cells, and a waterwheel, located about 60 meters south of Kentsford Farmhouse. The buildings date from the 17th to 18th centuries and are constructed of blue lias and red sandstone random rubble, with some areas partially rendered. They have a double Roman tiled roof.

The eastern end features a threshing barn with double doors, a flat-headed dormer projection for the loft door, a plank door below, an unglazed window opening to the right, and a plank door at the end bay. There is a loft door on the right return gable end. At the rear, there is an undershot iron waterwheel housed in a lean-to addition made of brick and random rubble, topped with a corrugated iron roof.

Inside, there are five pairs of jointed cruck trusses. This range forms the southern side of a foldyard that includes other historically significant buildings. For additional context, there are other buildings of interest in the group, including a barn to the west, a linhay to the north, and Kentsford Farmhouse.
