Description
Nos 21 and 23 on Mantle Street are a pair of cottages, likely built in the 18th century. They are two storeys high and have a higher elevation compared to Nos 17 and 19. The front is roughcast with a projecting plinth, and the roof is slate with one dormer on the right. The buildings feature three windows, some of which are original sashes with glazing bars, including a large sash on the ground floor to the left. The entrance to No 21 is in the middle and accessed by three steps, while No 23 has its door on the left, reached by four steps. Both doors have panelled reveals and a six-panel design. There is a basement grille on the right. These cottages are included for their group value with Nos 17 to 23 and No 25, which is of local interest.
