Description
The stables at Wadbury were built around 1860 and are constructed from Doulting rubble with squared quoins and a slate roof. The building features wide bracketed eaves and a tall ashlar stack with a moulded cap, showcasing an Italianate style. It is two stories high and has a layout of one bay on the left and two bays on the right. On the first floor, there are paired sash windows with glazing bars set within a block surround on the left, while the right side has two bays that are slightly set forward under a gable, featuring a 20th-century sash window with glazing bars and paired semi-circular headed sash windows with marginal lights. The ground floor includes a central metal casement window in a block surround, flanked by broad semi-circular headed openings; on the left, there are paired plank doors, and on the right, a 20th-century glazed panel has been inserted. The stables are included in the listing primarily for their group value with Wadbury.
