Description

Attached to the southeast corner of the cottage at the Vicarage is a short section of high old brick walling, possibly from the 18th century. The wall features a gateway flanked by square piers topped with stone ball finials. It has double wrought-iron gates with cresting above. This wall is significant to the church precinct as it helps enclose the churchyard, separating it from the open spaces to the east. The listed buildings in Church Square, along with the Church of St Mary Magdalene and the listed buildings in Hammet Street, form an important architectural group.
