Description
The Ivelchester Hotel is a former house that has been converted into a hotel, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and has been colourwashed. The building features Ham stone dressings and has a clay pantiled roof with a shallow slope between coped gables, which is situated behind a parapet on the facade. There are brick chimney stacks.
The hotel is three storeys high and has three bays. It includes a plinth, band courses, a thin cornice, a plain rendered parapet, and rusticated quoins. The windows are sash style, set in painted stone architraves, with 24 panes in the outer bays and 20 panes in the second-floor bay 2, which also has a false window beneath it. The lower bay 2 features a pair of part-glazed doors beneath a partly obscured fanlight, which are set within an open stone porch supported by Tuscan columns and pilasters, topped with a plain entablature and a flat roof. There are various outbuildings located at the rear of the property. The interior has not been seen.
