Description

A pair of former houses, now offices, dating from the early to mid-19th century and possibly incorporating earlier fabric. The building is rendered with a colourwashed finish, featuring a plain clay tiled roof with an ornamental clay tiled ridge and plain gables. Brick chimney stacks, including a front lateral stack, are present.

The two-storey building with attics has three bays, with bay 3 slightly projecting as a gable. A plinth and pilaster strips are visible externally. Bay 1 has 16-pane sash windows in moulded architraves. The upper bay 3 also features 16-pane sash windows in similar architraves. The upper bay 2 contains a double 18th-century 12-pane sash window with thick glazing bars in a matching architrave, while the lower bay 3 has a 3-light chamfer mullioned window with ogee-arched lights, also set in an architrave. The main entrance is located in the lower bay 2, with a pair of Regency-pattern doors and a 5-pane rectangular fanlight set in a plain architrave. A moulded stone hood, supported by three shallow brackets, extends over both doorways. A small pitched-roof dormer with a 2-light small-pane casement window is positioned over bay 1.

The interior remains uninspected. This building has group value from the perspective of its architectural and historical significance.
