Description

This is a late 18th or early 19th century house, originally built as part of a row, and now converted into flats. It may incorporate earlier fabric to the rear. The front of the building is rendered and colourwashed, with stone dressings, while the wings are constructed of rubble. The roof is covered with triple roll clay tiles, featuring a coped gable on the west side, and there's a brick chimney stack. The main front section is a double-depth design and is accompanied by two gabled rear wings.

The exterior presents two storeys and four bays. Features include a plinth, plain pilasters at the ends, a cornice, and a plain parapet. The fourth bay has a canted bay window with plain sashes under a lead bell-hip roof; other windows are plain, late 20th century plastic sashes in simple openings. The main entrance, in the third bay, has a six-panel door with a rectangular fanlight, set within a doorcase comprising Doric pilasters, a shallow entablature, and a moulded flat hood. Approximately one meter of plain walling rises above the first-floor windows. The rear wings have steep pitched roofs and late 20th century replacement windows.

The interior has not been inspected. The property, constructed or refaced around the same time as the adjoining No. 21, has unfortunately lost all of its original glazing-bar sashes.
