Description
No. 11 High Street is a building likely dating from the early 19th century. It stands two storeys tall and is colourwashed to resemble masonry. The façade features a moulded cornice and a parapet that is divided into three sections. There are three windows, each surrounded by architrave, with cornices above that are supported by large fluted volutes. The windows are sash style with thin glazing bars. The shop front has an overall fascia topped with a dentilled cornice, which is supported by three pilasters. The left half of the shop front has windows with curved tops, which are supported by polygonal colonettes with foliated capitals. This building is part of an important group of listed buildings that includes the Crown Hotel, Nos. 2 to 10 on the north side, and No. 12 on the south side, as well as the Market Cross and Nos. 6 to 9 in the Market Place.
