Description

No 19 on High Street is an early to mid 19th-century building that stands three storeys tall and is finished in roughcast. At the top of the front, there is a deep cornice adorned with modillions. The second storey features a continuous band of windows with ten lights, all under a single moulding. The window lights have cusped heads and are paired between colonettes with moulded capitals, and the casements do not have glazing bars.

On the first floor, there are two wooden splayed bays that have coved lead roofs and dentilled cornices, with aprons under the windows and three lights in each bay. The sashes on this level have closely set glazing bars. The large shop front below is topped with a dentilled cornice and flanked by fluted pilasters with volutes. The shop windows also feature colonettes and moulded capitals. This building, along with Nos 15, 17, and 17b, forms a cohesive group.
