Description
The Knapp is a house that dates from the 16th or 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 20th centuries. It features a rendered and colorwashed exterior, a thatched roof, and a brick and ashlar stack. The building has a through passage plan and is two storeys high with four bays. The windows include 20th-century casements with glazing bars, as well as 17th-century three-light casements on the ground floor. There is a door opening that contains a part-glazed door, which is sheltered by a thatched bonnet hood supported by rustic posts. On the right return, there are two-light transomed casements on the ground floor. Inside, the house has a stud and panel partition, a fireplace, a compartmental ceiling, a firehood, and an early roof, as noted in a report from March 1973.
