Description
This is a terrace of 13 houses located on Angel Crescent in Bridgwater, dating from the early to mid 19th century and restored around 1980. The houses are constructed of Flemish-bond brick and feature stepped stone voussoirs, plain stone archivolts, keystones, and imposts. They have a continuous pantile roof and brick stacks on the party walls. Originally designed with a single-depth plan that included outshuts and extensions, there is now a continuous 20th-century rear addition. Each house is two storeys high with a two-window range, displaying a 4:18:1 fenestration pattern, where a shallow central crescent is flanked by returns. All sash windows and panelled doors with fanlights are from the late 20th century. The terrace is long and concave towards the centre, with two houses at each end on the street plane and paired doors. House No. 18 is slightly stepped forward with its door positioned to the left. The interiors have been altered. This terrace is included for its group value.
