Description
Sidbrook Lodge is a lodge that was originally built for Sidbrook House, which has since been demolished. It dates from the early 19th century and was restored and enlarged in the late 20th century. The building is finished in stucco over random rubble and features pilaster quoins. It has a hipped roof covered with asbestos slate that has a shallow pitch and overhanging eaves with sprockets. A brick stack is located at the north gable end.
The lodge has a four-bay range that runs north to south, with a projecting crosswing at the southeast corner that originally flanked the entrance, which was in a semicircular projecting trelliswork porch. The entrance is now located on the west front and includes 20th-century additions. The building is single-storey with three bays flanking the road, and all windows are two-light casements with marginal glazing bars. A cornice with sprockets continues around the semicircular projecting bay formed by the wooden trelliswork porch, and the entrance is stuccoed over. The current entrance features a 20th-century half-glazed door.
