Description
Court Cottage and Virginia Cottage are two dwellings that were originally a cottage and outbuilding, dating from the 17th to 18th century, with alterations made in the late 20th century. The buildings are constructed from colour-washed random rubble and feature a steeply pitched double Roman tiled roof with a brick stack on the left gable end, while the left side has a lower plain clay tiled roof. The layout includes a single cell dwelling that adjoins Nos 2 and 3 The Street to the west, with the outbuilding forming part of a separate dwelling, Court Cottage, to the east. The structures are two storeys high and consist of one bay. The front has 20th-century casement windows and a plank door on the right. The facade is mostly hidden by an irregular slate-roofed three-bay verandah supported by rustic wooden piers, which is covered with wisteria. The buildings are primarily listed for their group value.
