Description

This is a 17th-century chest tomb made of Ham stone, located about one metre south of the chancel at the Church of St Augustine in West Monkton. The tomb features a flat top with a cyma recta moulded cornice and a bevelled plinth. The south face is divided into two arched bays, which include imposts and keystones, reflecting an early 17th-century style. One panel on the southeast side is inscribed to Joan, while the other panel is blank.
