Description

The Spinning Wheel is a house that has been converted into a restaurant. It dates from the 15th or 16th century, with some alterations made in the early 19th century. The building is rendered and has a pantile roof that runs at right angles to the front. There is a tall rendered chimney stack rising from the eaves on the left side, along with two additional brick chimney stacks on the ridge.

The structure is two storeys high with a one-bay frontage beneath a gable. On the first floor, there is a flush-mounted 12-pane sash window that slightly overhangs. The ground floor features a renewed 19th-century double shop front, which includes a 9-light window on each side of a 20th-century glazed door, topped with a narrow fascia board.

At the rear, facing Moorland Street, there is a three-bay return. The first floor has 20th-century two-light casement windows with glazing bars, while the ground floor has two flush-mounted 12-pane sash windows. There are two door openings: on the right, there is a four-panelled door set in a moulded surround with an open pediment on brackets; on the left, there is a vertical plank door with a central glazed light, also featuring an open pediment on brackets. The north wall of the first floor is timber framed.
