Description
Cartref is a row of three houses built in the late 18th century. The buildings are constructed of random rubble with rusticated quoins on number 19 and the right side of number 23. They feature ashlar plinths, a stone dentil eaves cornice, and double-Roman tile roofs, with coped verges at each end of the row and between numbers 19 and 21. Number 19 has a box dormer, and there is one ashlar stack with a moulded cap, two further rendered stacks, and one brick stack.
The facades are symmetrical, with two storeys, a basement, and an attic, arranged in three bays for each house. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are set in moulded stone architraves. The windows of number 19, which date from the late 19th century, are four lights each and have bull nosed cills. Each house has a central door opening in a similarly moulded stone architrave, topped with a slab hood on moulded stone brackets. The doors are six-panelled, with the top two panels glazed for numbers 19 and 21.
