Description
Knoyle Cottage is a house dating from the 16th century, with further work completed in the 18th century. It is built of random rubble with large dressed quoins on the right side and features a triple-Roman tile roof with brick stacks. The facade is irregular and is part of a row of buildings. The cottage has a semi-basement, two storeys, and an attic, with a layout of two bays on the upper level and one bay on the lower level. The windows are moulded stone-mullioned, with two and three lights, and there are two squat casements in the basement. To the left, there is a door opening in a bead moulded stone surround, which is accessed by a flight of three stone steps. The door itself is a six-panelled design, with the top two panels being glazed, and it is topped by a stone slab hood supported on moulded stone brackets. To the right, there is a single-storey outshut with a plain tile roof and a single slit opening in a plain stone surround.
