Description

The Ann Brulard Chest Tomb, located 5 metres south of the chancel at the Church of St James the Great, dates from the late 17th century to the early 18th century. It is constructed of ashlar sandstone and features a ledger top with a wrapped leaf frieze. The sides are arcaded, displaying billetted arches and egg and tongue moulded piers, each adorned with an angel face in the centre on both sides. The tomb is inscribed to Ann Brulard, who died in 1695.
