Description

The Dight Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St Mary, approximately 4 metres west of the tower. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of Ham stone. The tomb features a moulded plinth and has one fielded panel on each face, with single panel pilasters on the flanks. The hipped top is adorned with moulded coving and rounded leading edges. The monument commemorates the wife of Mark Dight, although her name and death date are unreadable, as well as James Dight, who died in 1804.
