Description

25 Christchurch Street West is a house dating from the 1830s, originally built in a Tudor Gothic style, with alterations made in the later 19th century, particularly to the south-west end. The building is constructed from rubble with a slate roof and has brick chimneys at each end. The gable end facing the road features a coped verge. The two bays on the left have drips above the windows; the left-hand windows are two-light, while the right-hand window, above the front door, is Tudor arched with intersecting glazing and a small pane cast-iron glazing bar casement. The front door is a four-panel design, with the upper two panels pointed and now glazed, and is sheltered by a flat hood supported by cut brackets. The three bays on the right have later 19th-century plate glass sash windows. Gabled dormers with bargeboards, with a central segmental head, are situated over the outer first-floor windows. There are traces of two windows with drip moulds on the ground floor.
