Description
Inglenook is a cottage dating from the early 17th century. It is constructed of red sandstone random rubble and features a thatched roof with stone stacks at the gable ends. The layout consists of two cells and a cross passage. The building has two storeys, with three windows on the first floor that include 3 and 2-light casements, and one small glazed opening in the right end bay. On the ground floor, there are two windows to the left and one to the right of the entrance, along with a similar small glazed opening in the right end bay. The entrance features a 20th-century plank door and a gabled porch that is timber-hung on decorative wooden brackets. Although the interior was not viewed, it is reported to contain chamfered beams with step and run-out stops, as well as a blocked peak-headed doorframe reset in the rear wall.
