Description
This building, located at 37 High Street in Chard, is a house dating from the 16th or 17th century. It features a stucco exterior with a thatched roof at the front, which continues with the adjacent house to the left, number 35, while the rear has a slate roof. The house has brick stacks at the gable ends and is one room deep with an outshut. It stands two storeys high and has a two-window range. On the first floor, there are 19th-century three-light casements. The ground floor on the left side includes a wide carriage entrance and a 20th-century three-light casement set beneath a wooden lintel, with the main entrance located in a passageway. Inside, the feet of upper-jointed cruck trusses are exposed on the first floor.
