Description
Nos 29 and 30 are a pair of cottages built in the late 19th century. They are constructed from local stone that is cut and squared, topped with a Welsh slate roof featuring bargeboarded gables and chunky eaves soffits and fascias, along with a brick chimney stack. The cottages are two storeys high, each with two bays, and have side entrances that lead to single storey lean-to additions with false parapet fronts. They feature a plinth and a band course, with 2-light casement windows that have elaborate marginal and diamond pattern frets, crafted from fine timber that imitates cast iron, and fitted with crown glass in simple openings that have gauged stone almost flat heads. The interior has not been seen. These cottages are linked to No 31 by a porch and form a good group. Approximately 3 metres from the houses is a boundary wall made of coursed squared stone with angled concrete copings, featuring small fielded panel piers with plain coved tops at the gateways and the south end of the wall, all of which contribute to the setting of the houses.
