Description
The white chest tomb located one metre south of the tower of the Church of St Mary is a chest tomb dating from around 1754, with restoration completed in 1840. It is made of Doulting ashlar with slate inserts and features panelled sides and ends on a plinth, along with corner and central pilasters. The tomb has a moulded cornice and a hipped top. It commemorates Pheby White, who died in 1754; George White, who died in 1764; Robert White, who died in 1840; and Ann Candy, who also died in 1840. The remains of a railed enclosure are present, although only the base survives.
