Description

The front boundary railings, located 30 metres south of the Methodist Church, were built around 1845. They are made of wrought and cast iron and sit on a base of lias stone. The railings are low stone walls topped with shaped copings, featuring heavy square railings that are somewhat irregular, reaching a total height of about 1.8 metres. The middle and top rails are adorned with cast Gothic poppyhead finials. There are also matching double gates with ogee braces and a simple semicircular overthrow for a lamp. These railings contribute to the setting of the Methodist Church and enhance the overall street scene.
