Description

Brook House is a house dated 1694, with alterations from the 19th century. It is located on the west side of Back Lane in Evercreech. The house is built of rubble with a triple-Roman tile roof, coped verges, and brick stacks. It is two storeys and an attic, originally with a 1:1:2 bay arrangement. It features 2-light stone-mullioned windows with ovolo-mouldings, and a gabled stair-turret containing a window to its gable face and a single-light window. A 20th-century panelled door is located to the right of the stair-turret. A blocked window is visible on the gable face of the right return. A single-storeyed outshut is present at the rear. The interior includes a door opening with a moulded freestone surround, a fireplace with moulded stone jambs and a mid-20th century lintel, and a winder staircase.
