Description
Higher Edgarley Farmhouse has late medieval origins but was mostly rebuilt and altered in the 19th century and later. The building has two storeys on the left and one storey on the right, constructed from random rubble with brick dressings around the windows. It features pantile roofs that are hipped at the south end, and there is a parapet with a kneeler at the right gable end. The farmhouse has two sash windows with marginal glazing bars. The one-storey section on the right retains a wall of the original masonry, which includes a four-centred stone arch with carved spandrels and deeply moulded jambs. Above this arch is a carved panel with a cusped quatrefoil design. At the rear, there is a long one-storey range.
