Description
This building is a shop and house located immediately to the west of the Old Angel. It dates from the 16th or 17th century and was refronted in the late 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. The exterior is rendered, featuring a parapet with plain coping and a hipped pantile roof. The structure has three storeys and two bays, with flush-mounted four-pane sash windows that include marginal lights. The ground floor has a late 19th-century double-bayed shop front with a central glazed door. To the right of the shop front, there is a ribbed and studded door from the 16th or 17th century, set in a moulded surround that is stopped at the base. The core of the building is likely timber framed, and there is evidence of an underbuilt jetty on the ground floor.
