Description

Marston House is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century, located on the south side of Ripton Road in Marston Magna. The house is constructed from local stone with squared and random coursing, featuring Ham stone dressings and a Welsh slate roof with coped gables. It has end chimney stacks.

The house is two storeys high with five bays. The central doorway is emphasized by a flat Doric pilaster surround which carries an open pediment. Above the door is a semi-circular arched opening containing a traceried fanlight, and a six-panel door. The windows are 12-pane sash windows set in architraves, with one window on each floor. A long extension to the rear of the house is of lower height and has casement windows. This extension was likely built shortly after the main house.
