Description
No. 47 High Street is a house and shop dating from around 1750. The building consists of two halves that were previously two separate properties. The left side is rendered with a pantile roof featuring coped verges and brick stacks at each apex. It is three stories tall with six bays, featuring sash windows with glazing bars set in moulded stone architraves. The ground floor has a late 19th-century shopfront with double entrance doors in a recess, and a fascia board supported by three-panelled pilasters and scrolled brackets. The right side is rendered with a 20th-century triple-roman tile roof and brick stacks on the left and right. This side is also three stories tall but has two bays, with flush-mounted sash windows that include glazing bars. The ground floor features a late 19th-century shopfront with panelled pilasters on either side and brackets supporting the fascia board.
