Description

No. 56 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop, dating from around 1800. The building is rendered and features an asbestos tile roof with a coped verge on the right side, where an ashlar stack rises through the apex. It stands three stories tall and has three bays, each with broad sash windows that include glazing bars set within reveals. The central door opening is flanked by fluted Ionic pilasters that support an open triangular pediment. The door itself is a 20th-century glazed design, and there is a blocked fanlight above it.
