Description

No. 49 High Street is a house and shop dating from around 1750. It is constructed of roughcast with a double Roman tile roof and features a brick stack on the right side. The building has three storeys and two bays, with flush-mounted sash windows that include glazing bars. The ground floor has a late 19th-century shopfront with a central door opening and a late 20th-century door. On either side of the door, there are panelled pilasters with shaped brackets that support a fascia board. This building is primarily noted for its group value with other buildings along High Street.
