Description
The Cook Chest Tomb, located in the churchyard 2.5 metres east of the tower of the Church of Saint Michael, dates from the 17th century and is made of Ham stone. The tomb is partially buried, with a sunken plinth and plain sides that feature incised decoration on the flanks. It has a heavy moulded flat top. The inscriptions are set in half-round arched panels, with the earliest commemorating William Cook, who died in 1677.
